Alexander Poznyak does research in Materials Science, Condensed Matter Physics, Nanotechnologies and Nanostructured Materials.

Education and Working career:
Dr. Alexander A. Poznyak was born in Minsk, USSR, in 1963. He studied chemistry at the Belarusian State University, Faculty of Chemistry in Minsk between 1980 and 1985, ending with a specialization in the Department of Analytical Chemistry with the Diploma Thesis "Analysis of Mixtures of a Number of Ethynyl, Vinyl Derivatives of Benzene, Analysis of Quaternary Ammonium Salts by High-Performance Liquid Chromatography".
1985 began research at the Department of Microelectronics of the Minsk Radio Engineering Institute.
1988-1991 was a Postgraduate at the Department of Microelectronics of the Minsk Radio Engineering Institute on specialty "Solid-state electronics, microelectronics".
1994-1995 he was guest scientist at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering (Chair WW4: Surface Science and Corrosion) of the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität (FAU) Erlangen-Nürnberg (Germany) where his research was focused on aluminium and its alloys anodization.
From 2001 was an Assistant Professor at the Department of Chemistry of Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics (formerly Minsk Radio Engineering Institute).
From 2002 was an Associate Professor at the Department of Chemistry of Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics.
2002 has defended his Thesis on "Light-emitting structures based on modified anodic alumina films" on specialty "Solid-state electronics, micro and nanoelectronics, quantum effects devices".
2004-2007 Doctoral Candidate at the Department of Chemistry of Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics.
2004 was guest scientist at the Max Planck Institute for Iron Research (MPIE), Düsseldorf, Germany.
2008 awarded the academic title of Docent in the specialty "Electronics and Microelectronics".
From 2016 is an Associate Professor at the Department of Electronic Technology and Engineering.
He is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Electronic Technology and Engineering and a Senior Research Officer of the Research and Development Laboratory 4.10 "Nanotechnologies".
